Copenhagen Fashion Week and Sustainability

The screening of the Copenhagen Fashion Week Autumn/Winter collections, which took place between 31 January – 3 February 2023 in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, is on its last day as of today. This fashion week has a different feature that distinguishes it from other fashion weeks.

So what is this distinguishing feature?

To reduce the impact of the fashion industry on the environment, participating brands are required to comply with the requirements of a certain number of sustainability directives.

What are these requirements? A few of the minimum standards;

  • We work strategically to embed sustainability and international standards on human rights, the environment, and climate into our business.
  • We do not destroy unsold clothes from previous collections.
  • We find a second life for our samples.
  • At least 50% of our collection is made from certified, preferred materials or next-generation sustainable materials, recycled, or dead stock.

These developments in the fashion industry, which have a share in the carbon footprint, make a positive contribution to our world.
